Josh grew up in Florence, attending Yealey Elementary, RA Jones Middle School, and Boone County High School. He then attended the University of Kentucky on a National Merit Scholarship and earned a Bachelors in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. While at UK, Josh ran track and was the Official Wildcat Mascot.

After college, he returned to Florence and worked for several years at Cinergy Corp in Cincinnati. He then began working for the International Mission Board as a missionary to Mexico. Josh worked in Monterrey for over two years, mostly with university students. While working as a missionary, he developed a love for teaching, and also met his wife, Kristen.

When Josh returned to the USA, he eventually moved back to Florence and became a high school math teacher, earning a Masters in Education, a Rank I in Education, and Principal’s Certification. He taught for three years at Boone County High School, and he currently teaches at Southgate Public School. Josh has been married to Kristen for five years, and they have a two-year-old daughter named Evie.

In addition to teaching, Josh trains high school students to take the ACT, working for a local company called TorchPrep. Josh and his wife Kristen are very involved at Grace Fellowship Church in Florence and lead a weekly small group at their home. Josh also serves as the volunteer Chairman of the Boone County Republican Party.
